Grand Teton National Park sits in Northwestern Wyoming and is nearly 310,000 acres (and growing with each addition of land being attached to the national park). The park is a mere 10 miles south of Yellowstone National Park via the Rockefeller Parkway and just north of Jackson Hole. Grand Teton National Park derives its name from the early 19th century fur traders who spoke French and called the mountains Les Trois Tetons (translated to the three teats). The tallest and most recognizable of the Cathedral Group is Grand Teton boasting 13,775 feet nearly 850 feet above Mount Owen, the second tallest. This beautiful iconic park boasts magnificent wildlife, and outdoor activities to please nearly any nature enthusiast.
