This elusive grizzly bear, known by some as Blondie, comes and goes through the northern part of Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. While driving the backroads early one morning, I spotted some motion through the trees and pulled over for a bit. After waiting a considerable amount of time, this bear emerges and surveys the surrounding territory. Being only one of two vehicles in the area, it moved on to the flower laden meadow and began digging for roots and the like. More and more people arrived as we were visible from the main road but all was calm and controlled and everyone was able to get a few shots of this iconic, but mysterious, bear before it moved off once again not to be seen for the remainder of the summer and fall.

Thanks Kathi - this was shot with a 500mm but, yet, this bear was in close range and always moving!

Uh oh, you're kinda close to ole Blonde! Judging by the results I can see it was well worth it! FL

Absolutely stunning shot, Sandra, as this is one gorgeous animal! What a fine piece of artwork for me to proudly display on our Featured Artwork section of our Homepage, within our family of friends and fine artists, in our Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group. It is truly an honor to showcase your talents and beautiful artworks within our site, as our members get more promotion than in most groups, as I change out our Featured Artworks section 20 to 30 images at a time, and almost on a daily basis. I also change out our Top FEATURED artists weekly. I am proud to display this fine piece of beauty you have created for us to enjoy and share with others. LIKED and FAVED Forever, Elvis
