Description
After a brief, but fierce, winter storm the trees along the Gros Ventre River in Grand Teton National Park, the stately trees are covered on one side with the wintery mix that mother nature delivered during the night. The sunlight striking the icy mixture sparkled like diamonds and the overhanging clouds began to part into large fluffy cottonlike formations with the arrival of the sun. As cruel and harsh as winter can be in Wyoming there always seems to be peaceful moments where one can enjoy the beauty of winter. The Grand Teton Range is a mere 28 miles long and rises nearly immediately from the floor of the valley with little or no foothills in some areas. It is one of the most photographed mountain ranges in the world. Sadly, the smaller details are often overlooked by photographers. Grand Teton National Park is one of the most photographed areas within the United States of America for not only its scenic qualities but its abundant wildlife which is visible both roadside and the grand reward is for those who are willing to exert themselves a bit and go deeper into the boundaries and backcountry of the park. This image is available is black & white (monochrome) as well.
