What a phenomenal work of art! The grandeur and intricacy of this sacred place -- with all its cultural riches of Navajo life and lore and the dramatic sweep if its history -- are here, but also the timeless serenity of this moment of dawn. Like my sister, I feel the years drop away and am once again roasting corn and mutton and potatoes under the ashes of a campfire while my sweet little Navajo friend (also my classmate at school in nearby Chinle) tells me stories of Kit Carson's brutal raid and the tragic Long Walk. This is one for the ages, Sandra!
