This ever popular geyser in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, erupts rather predictably between nine and fifteen hours with a maximum height from 75 feet to over 220 feet. This stunning eruptions can last up to two hours and draws dozens of hopeful viewers who will wait for hours. It is a double bonus for the visitor or photographer for White Dome Geyser, just down the roadway, erupts frequently and is easily seen.
The Great Fountain Geyser is located in the Firehole Lake Drive area in the Lower Geyser Basin and holds the distinctive title of being the only predicted geyser in the entire Lower Geyser Basin. The gorgeous mirror reflections are best at sunrise and sunset but offer the most beautiful reflections of clouds and blue skies during the daylight hours.
