Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, is known for its bitter cold winters with massive amounts of snow. Flowing through the Upper Geyser Basin is the Firehole River which never freezes over despite temperatures of -35 degrees. The geyser runoffs and geothermal features keep the river warm enough to withstand the freezing cold.
