This image was shot the morning after a huge rainstorm swept through the valley and the area flooded. As a result, a beautiful reflection was possible but the roads, impassable in most areas.

Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park shares a border with both Arizona and Utah. It is home to many of the Navajo nation and much of the land is off-limits to the casual tourist as many parts of the Tribal Park are considered to be of great spiritual significance to the inhabitants. Straddling the border of northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah of the Colorado Plateau the tribal park preserves the Navajo way of life and some of the most striking and recognizable landscapes of sandstone buttes, mesas and spires in the entire Southwest.
