During the winter season, Grand Teton National Park becomes a true winter wonderland with snow blanketing everything. Storms move in and out rapidly leaving behind a pristine covering of white, glittering snow. Most areas of the park are closed to tourists except for a short portion of the inner road leading to areas where the trails for cross country skiing begin. Being able to drive that road led to a very small residential area which presumably is used by the summer employees. Being unable to drive any further, hiking was the only option in order to get deep enough into the clearing of the forest. The snow was easily over two feet deep. During the time it took to find the proper spot for the image, the heavy cloud cover began to part allowing for the wonderful definition in the stormy sky. A hot thermos of coffee in the truck made this image worth the trek.
Sandra Bronstein finds great pleasure in sharing the beauty of the natural world and its magnificent wildlife as seen through her lenses for over 40 years. Having been intrigued by many different elements, in both the manmade and natural world, she strives to discover new and different ways to capture these elements. Her vision provides a window into the ever changing world and, simply put, Sandra has captured and shares with us a simple moment in time. Sandra was raised and continues to reside in large metropolitan cities but has always had a love of nature and wilderness. It was due, in part, to family travels and being an "outdoor" girl which kept her love strong for wildlife and the environment. That love and respect shows in each...
