A juvenile coastal brown bear parades the beaches in search of easy prey, perhaps a clam washed upon the beach or a fish. The difference between a coastal brown bear and a grizzly bear is geographical location and diet. The bears in Alaska are fisherman with an emphasis on grasses during the spring and summer months. Berries are consumed as a weight gaining exercise prior to a long winter hibernation. These bears can be blonde or dark brown.
